Landing Gear Systems

The Aircraft Landing Gear Systems course will cover the wheels, tires, brakes, and retraction/extension systems typically used on general and transport category aircraft. Types of brakes, wheels, and tires will be covered along with their proper maintenance. Systems covered include independent master cylinder brakes, power brakes, antiskid systems, and electric and hydraulic retraction and extension systems. Position indication and warning systems are also covered. Students will gain a working knowledge of how these systems operate and the required maintenance and servicing required of their components.
