Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT): Featuring New Airmen Certification Standards

The Clemson University Center for Workforce Development is developing online aviation curriculum to enhance and improve the quality of maintenance technician education in the aircraft industry. The team is currently seeking partners to pilot this courseware for free, and provide feedback on the material. If you are interested in utilizing this web-based curriculum in your classroom starting Spring 2024, please fill out this form.

This program prepares learners for entry into the FAA mechanic pathway and should be completed after the General program. After completing this program, learners will gain foundational knowledge in metallic and non-metallic structures, flight controls, airframe inspection, landing gear systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, environmental systems, aircraft instrument and fuel systems, and electrical and fire protection systems.

  • FAA-ACS-AM-IIE-LGS Landing Gear Systems
  • FAA-ACS-AM-IIF-HPS Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
  • FAA-ACS-AM-IIG-ECS Environmental Control Systems
