The goal of this module is to introduce the learner to the different kinds of personal protective equipment commonly worn in a manufacturing environment. It is important for industrial workers to be familiar with this equipment and its uses, in order to help create a safer work environment for all employees.

Objectives:

• Discuss safety function of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Justify selection of PPE for a particular work environment
• Plan appropriate first aid response procedures
• Describe proper care to avoid exposure to blood-borne pathogens (BBP)
